Speaking of speaking, this post's going to be about how it’s now possible to make your computer talk. It'll introduce you to a nifty tool called half life announcer which can provide voice-overs for all your mods. A narrator you can control.
You're not going to get James Earl Jones here. You're not even going to get Peter Dinklage (sorry, Tyrion fans).
However, it's still more than decent enough for game play purposes. It's of decent quality and since you can control the voice (putting your own voice-over work in if you want), it can make all of your games sound cooler.
It isn't perfect though. The narrator speaks at a monotone pace, so when creating certain types of mods, you may need to edit his speech to fit into your mod's tone.
It also has the problem of 'trying to be too funny'. At times, it'll make some innuendoes or make reference to something that really doesn't fit in. It's easily ignored though.

What this program does is it take a text file and reads aloud what's written there. That's it!
You can simply write down the line you want read aloud and its done! The narrator will do his thing as you please. I've gotten rather creative with this thing as you'll see below. The narrator is probably the most important part of this program ever.

This program is worth thinking of putting into your mod if the 'half life announcer' text talks about something that isn't immediately apparent to your players.

Pros:
-It's completely free! (no catch, I checked)
-It's an easy download and install and it comes with a user friendly interface.
-The narrator is very clear and easy to understand.
-Has the ability to add your own voice overs. (as long as you have a good microphone)
Cons: -The narrator can get rather irritating at times. -The narrator has a tendency to read out loud quite fast.
